MOVEMENT

Why move? What are the reasons we should exercise?

I was sitting thinking today you know pondering as you do, well as I often do.

Thinking that if I’m not training myself then I’m planning client sessions and classes or studying movement in some way or another. I have a serious passion for movement I mean I really love it. Pilates, strength, cardio, HITT, functional whichever although I must say Pilates is my ultimate passion. Movement is fascinating to me, how the body works how muscles complement each other or compensate for each other.

Movement or exercise just brings about so many benefits from the aesthetics which none of us are going to complain about. Who doesn’t want a six pack, a peachy behind, some strong guns or a lean Pilates body?

But I want to talk about other health benefits of movement and exercise.  Feeling strong in the body, a clearer mind, increase in energy, better sleep, increase of happy hormones, improved bone density, the list goes on.

I am blessed in my work to help clients on their health and wellness journey. The satisfaction I feel when I see a client become stronger week by week and increase in self confidence is so rewarding. When a post-surgery client who struggles with their balance and even to walk, becomes more stable on their feet and confident enough to go out alone again. All through the benefits of exercise and making their bodies stronger.

Exercise, movement and training is not just for people who want to lose weight and improve their body aesthetically.  Let’s be honest we are not going to stay young forever age comes to us all. Strong muscles today will support you as you tomorrow. To be frank, squat today so you can sit on the toilet independently when you age. We all want to keep our dignity, don’t we?

In our modern-day lifestyle that is very sedentary often desk and technology based, postural issues are causing a lot of us back pain, neck pain, headaches and lots of muscle imbalances.

Strength training specifically Pilates strengthens and lengthens   the muscles to achieve muscle balance and improve those postural issues dramatically.

Our bodies truly are amazing vessels treat them well and they will serve you well.
